“When I write, I try to envision my live show and how the songs will translate to my fans. Personally, I'm in a really good place , and I am sure my new material reflects that”
Eric Dodd is a songwriter, singer, and performer whose music is deeply rooted in storytelling and lived experience.
Growing up, Dodd split his focus between competitive golf and an undeniable pull toward music. He earned a golf scholarship to Georgia College & State University before ultimately following his calling, transferring to the University of Georgia to study music business and immerse himself in the legendary Athens music scene. That pivotal move sharpened both his songwriting voice and his instincts as a performer.
In 2014, Dodd made the inevitable leap to Nashville, where his career quickly gained national traction. In 2016, he was named a CMT Discovery Artist, releasing his debut EP Fun / Fire / Rain, produced by Jesse Triplett of Collective Soul. The project launched a run of breakout moments: singles “Outskirts” and “The Reason” both hit #1 on CMT’s 12-Pack Countdown (twice), while “Baecation” broke onto national FM radio and reached #1 on the nationally syndicated Bobby Bones Show.
Known for both his electrifying and intimate live shows, Dodd has shared the stage with some of country music’s biggest names, including Sam Hunt, Old Dominion, Zac Brown Band, Jake Owen, Cole Swindell, and Rodney Atkins. His sound lives at the crossroads of Country, Rock, and Americana driven by heartfelt lyrics, gritty authenticity, and an unmistakable onstage charisma that turns crowds into communities.
Behind the scenes, Dodd has become a proven hitmaker. His songwriting catalog has amassed over 75 million streams, with cuts recorded by Colt Ford, Spencer Crandall, Coffey Anderson, Allie Colleen, and Rodell Duff, among others. His songs are known for their emotional punch, melodic strength, and real-life relatability.
Now firmly planted in the heart of Nashville’s creative scene, Dodd is entering a new chapter. He is currently releasing new music and preparing his upcoming project OCONEE, a deeply personal body of work named for the place that shaped him, set for release this year. Alongside longtime friend and bandmate Matt VanZant, Dodd also co-founded Oconee Music Foundry, an artist development company, management firm, and record label built to champion authentic voices and long-term careers.
